The series records Brazilian culinary traditions and practices that originated from the miscegenation of indigenous peoples, Africans and Portuguese. Based on the 1967 book of the same name by Luís da Câmara Cascudo, it features inteviews with chefs, artists and scholars from various regions of Brazil, Portugal and Angola.
